So Inclined

I went sledding this morning. I had a sled in the van already, so I thought why not? I dropped the 2nd grader off and went to Rolling Hills. It was just me and the hill. The hill is barely covered with snow, and it's not quite icy but there's kind of a sugar crunch going on to make it slippery. Kind of like a streusel topping. It turned out to be excellent conditions for sledding, I went really far and hit the snow fence a few times.

Here, take a ride with me.

That's hilarious! Do you ever tell your kids that this is what you do while they are at school or is it your secret pleasure? I ice skate some afternoons, but I can't tell my kids...

Sure, I'll tell them. I'd be happy to take them sledding, too, but generally one is enthusiastic about my ideas and one isn't and then it becomes this huge production. It's so nice to just waltz out the door and do something.

I like to set a good example, you know, showing them that I can have fun little escapes worked into my day without doing something like, oh, just getting a one-way ticket to California or something like that.

You should try standing up some time and see how far you can go.

I like your toes in that video... they're like the flashing police light at the beginning of Police Squad.

Weeee! that was fun!

Good idea Andre. I could render myself incapacitated without anybody nearby and see how long it takes for St. Bernards with whiskey in barrels around their necks to come rescue me.

i want to know how you can sled down a hill without making noise. i usually laugh hysterically, but maybe i just don't get enough fun in my life...

Chachele, my silence is an intentional and conscious silence, as I follow an ancient discipline that strengthens the spirit called "zen county park sledding".

Actually, I did get kind of shrieky sledding on the right side of the hill, where the rough ride was a little harder on the mammaries.
